This auction is set up for the now somewhat famous "Peptoboonsmule" known to his fans as "Ricky Bobby" This NASMA Registered bay/brown mule colt was foaled 4/7/18 His NASMA Registration # is NM-1769 He is located in Madison, NC 27025 (between Greensboro, NC and Martinsville, VA) Ricky Bobby's dam is a red roan AQHA Mare "Peptos Royal Chic" that stands 15hh. She is by "I Could Too" a son of the great "Peptoboonsmal" I Could Too has earned over $17K NCHA and is an AQHA Point Earner in Cutting (14.5 points). Her dam is "Smart N Parr" who sports the breeding of Smart Chic Olena, Docs Prescription, and Zan Parr Bar. Ricky Bobby's sire is a black mammoth jack that we, unfortunately, have no other information on. This little guy's arrival was a bit of a surprise to us but he sure has been a lot of fun! This auction is set up to run e-bay style through Friday, June 20th at 9pm EST. The auction will close 5 minutes after the last bid (so if a bid comes in at 8:59pm, the auction will extend until 9:04 and so on) The minimum bid is $500 and he sells with no reserve so get in and help yourself! Ricky Bobby will be weaned around August 7th. We will keep him for 2 weeks after weaning and he will arrive at his new home halter broke and utd on farrier and deworming. If boarding is needed longer than that, we are happy to work that out with the buyer. Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer but we are very happy to assist with transport arrangements as we have many commercial shipping contacts and travel a good deal ourselves. The soundness guarantee is specific to the following: Lameness, absence of vices (i.e. cribbing or weaving), soundness of wind (heaves, roaring), free from parrot or monkey mouth (overbite or underbite), and sight in both eyes. A seller may declare a horse to be a cribber but otherwise sound. In that case, you are buying the horse with the guarantee minus what was declared (In other words, you can call us with a lameness concern on such a horse) What is NOT covered: Any horse sold under $500 is not covered by the guarantee. Any horse sold "as is" or "buying him there in the dust" Horses sold "as is" or "there in the dust" are announced as such so please listen to announcements on each horse. ANY HORSE SOLD OUTSIDE regardless of the price is NOT guaranteed. If you want the guarantee, you need to be the high bidder in the ring. If you buy the horse outside of the ring, whether before or after the sale, there is no guarantee from Carolina Horse Company as we do not know what was said outside of our sale ring. Be the bidder! Lameness: Obvious lameness that is observable is of course covered. A failed flexion test alone on a horse that travels sound otherwise is not acceptable as flexion tests are not a reliable stand alone diagnostic tool. Sickness. Anytime horses congregate in one area, sickness is a concern just as when you send your kids to school. We STRONGLY recommend that ANY horse new to your herd at home is quarantined for 21 days no matter where it comes from. We have horses here from all over the country and with that of course comes the risk of viruses passing between them. Be smart, be safe, and quarantine! :) Be an informed buyer! Get here early, go back to these stalls and speak with our consignors! ASK those tough questions. Look the horse over BEFORE they enter the ring. We have asked our consignors to do their part and represent their horses as they are. We also ask our buyers to be smart consumers. This is our regular monthly sale with our usual lineup of fantastic horses but with a twist! Historically, we have held a "Miniature Horse & Donkey Sale" all by itself. However, this year, we would like to feature these fun-sized equines at our regular sale and during their own special session! At 10:00, Rodger Finn will begin selling used tack followed by new tack. We WILL have miniature tack & equipment available! Those of you with used miniature tack such as carts or harness, this would be a GREAT sale to bring those items to! At 4:30 sharp, we will begin the Minature Horse & Donkey catalog session. The catalog is open to both registered and grade animals. Miniature Horses, Donkeys, and mules are welcome! If you have little ones that drive and have not been here before, rest assured that we have got plenty of room for you to show them off in harness! If you need to arrange to have a cart for use, please contact us and we'll get you all set so you don't have to haul one here. Once the Minature session is complete, we will move into our regular horse sale starting with registered horses & finishing with the grade horses. There is a $10 no sale fee on ALL saddles that do not meet their reserve. New tack will follow and start between 12:00 and 1:00 pm.
